Post Menopause & Bleeding

After the menopause (1 year after cessation of periods) it’s not normal to experience vaginal bleeding. Sometimes this can present with heavy bleeding or just spotting, perhaps the bleeding occurred after intercourse.

A though history and physical examination is required to determine the cause and appropriate treatment. In some cases further tests to rule out infection or an ultrasound scan may be recommended.
