Miss Linda Farahani is an experienced consultant Gynaecologist and specialist in Reproductive Medicine. She has a specialist interest in the management of subfertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, PCOS, premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) and other menstrual irregularities. She treats women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions including endometriosis, pelvic pain, early pregnancy complications and menopause. She is experienced in gynaecological ultrasound and can provide follicle tracking scans, HyCoSy and saline scans and early pregnancy scans in addition to general gynaecological ultrasound.

Background

Miss Farahani works at The Lister fertility clinic at the Portland Hospital and privately alongside Miss Claire Mellon at The Portland Hospital.

Miss Farahani has been a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology since 2012, and completed her training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 2016. She has undertaken two fellowship posts.

She completed an 18 month fellowship in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound at the Early Pregnancy and Gynaecology Scanning Unit at Kings College Hospital in 2015. This is one of the leading centres for gynaecological ultrasound in the UK.

She completed a 3 year fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and IVF at Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust in 2020. Because of this specialist training, she is highly experienced in the management of women experiencing a wide range of gynaecological conditions including subfertility, menstrual problems including PCOS and amenorrhoea, and pelvic pain/discharge. She can offer a number of fertility treatments including follicle tracking and ovulation induction, as well as more specialised treatments such as IUI and IVF. During this fellowship, Miss Farahani began her research which is the looking at the impact of sperm quality and the semen microbiome on fertility outcomes and specifically in recurrent pregnancy loss. She is due to complete her thesis (medical doctorate) in 2024.

She has presented her research work both nationally and internationally and has written a number of papers which have been published in peer review journals.

She is passionate about women’s health education and is an ambassador for the Endometriosis Foundation and recently spoke to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Endometriosis.
