What is a Wellwoman Check?

This is a comprehensive assessment of women’s health, aiming to provide you with peace of mind. This will be tailored to your individual needs. It enables early detection of breast and gynaecological conditions that may affect women who are otherwise asymptomatic.

A yearly Wellwoman Check is advised for women of all ages.

What to expect at your appointment

​

• Consultation with one of our female consultant gynaecologists

• Thorough history, pelvic and / or breast examination

​

If required (at additional charge) 

• Cervical smear and HPV sub-typing test

• Transvaginal ultrasound scan

• Contraception and sexual health review

​

• Referral for further tests. Please note an additional cost will apply depending on the test. These may include:

  • Blood tests

  • A breast mammogram

  • A breast ultrasound scan

  • A bone density scan

​

• Written medical report which can be posted or emailed to yourself and health professional(s) of your choice

• Prescription arrangement

• Notification of the results of any test
