Kirsten Vogt
Consultant, MRCOG

Miss Vogt is a highly qualified specialist gynaecologist with years of experience in the field currently based at The Whittington Hospital, whilst also practicing privately at The Portland Hospital with Miss Mellon.  She specialises in early pregnancy conditions and emergency gynaecology services, as well as having special interests including treatment for miscarriage, ambulatory gynaecology and hysteroscopies.

Miss Vogt completed her State exam at the Technische Universität München and then worked as a Junior doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Berlin, Wales, Canterbury and London. She carried out her specialist training number with the west London deanery MRCOG CCT in 2010.

She has extensive experience and a high level of training in her field which ensures that she is able to provide the best and most up-to-date care and treatment to all of her patients.

Miss Vogt offers gynaecological reviews and undertakes ultrasound scanning.  She can provide advice on contraception / HRT and regularly sees patients for menstrual concerns and treatment of polyps and performs hysteroscopies at both the Portland Hospital and London Clinic.

Miss Vogt is extremely gentle and sympathetic to patient’s needs.  She sees a lot of young women coming to see a gynaecologist for the first time and is excellent at putting patients at ease. She takes time to listen to patients concerns and is approachable and easy to talk to.

Emma Kirk
Consultant, BSC, MBBS, MRCOG, MD

Miss Emma Kirk is a highly trained and experienced consultant in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology . Miss Kirk graduated from St George’s Hospital (University of London) in 1999. She qualified as a Member of The Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists in 2009.

She is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Free Hospital, London.   She is the clinical lead for Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology. She has a special interest in early pregnancy with over 12 years’ experience. She is an expert in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound.  She regularly sees patients for gynaecological review, investigations into abnormal bleeding, investigation of pelvic pain, discussions about contraception and early pregnancy problems.  She works closely with Miss Mellon and fertility clinics to assist with pre-conception work-ups and can arrange any investigations required.  She can perform ultrasound assessments for tubal patency (HyCoSy) and performs minor surgical procedures at the Portland Hospital and the London Clinic.

Miss Kirk is passionate about driving advances in her field and worked as a research fellow for many years. She has published extensively in established research journals on many different areas of early pregnancy, with more than 50 publications. She holds a number of leading positions including  Coordinator of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology Special Interest Group in Early Pregnancy, Executive member of the Association of Early Pregnancy Units  and  a medical advisor to the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.

Miss Kirk is also very involved with teaching and frequently lectures on different aspects of early pregnancy. She co-organises the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists advanced training skill course on Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology. She regularly lectures on gynaecological ultrasound courses.

Miss Kirk’s extensive experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, particularly with early pregnancy, has resulted in Emma being able to provide the highest standards of treatment and care to all her patients.

Organiser of the RCOG advanced training skill course on early pregnancy and emergency gynaecology. Regularly lectures for ESHRE and other early pregnancy and gynaecological ultrasound courses. Also is an Instructor on Managing Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma (MOET) courses. Has the RCOG ATSM in medical education. 
Peer review
Regularly reviews medical articles submitted to journals. Has over 50 publications in peer review journals and has written many book chapters on aspects of Early pregnancy care.

Helen Barnes
General practitioner, MBCHB, BSC, DRCOG, MRCGP, MFSRH

Dr Barnes works within the group Miss Claire Mellon & Associates.  She is a General Practitioner with Special Interest (GPSI) in Women’s Health. Prior to becoming a GP she started her career by training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Hammersmith Hospital, UCLH and The Whittington Hospital.

Dr Barnes is a GP in Guildford and is the Clinical Lead for the Guildford & Waverley Community Gynaecology Service.

Her interests include complex contraception and medical gynaecology, particularly menopause and PCOS. Dr Barnes fits contraceptive implants and coils, she is also able to perform gynaecological ultrasound scans. With her GP background she provides a holistic approach to women’s health problems.

Working at
Dr Barnes works as an NHS GP at Shere Surgery in Guildford. She is also the clinical lead for the Guildford & Waverley Community Gynaecology Service.
Complex contraception, sexual health and medical gynaecology, particularly gyanecological ultrasound, menopause and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Interested in providing a holistic approach to women’s health problems.
