Miss Vogt is a highly qualified specialist gynaecologist with years of experience in the field currently based at The Whittington Hospital, whilst also practicing privately at The Portland Hospital with Miss Mellon. She specialises in early pregnancy conditions and emergency gynaecology services, as well as having special interests including treatment for miscarriage, ambulatory gynaecology and hysteroscopies.
Miss Vogt completed her State exam at the Technische Universität München and then worked as a Junior doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Berlin, Wales, Canterbury and London. She carried out her specialist training number with the west London deanery MRCOG CCT in 2010.
She has extensive experience and a high level of training in her field which ensures that she is able to provide the best and most up-to-date care and treatment to all of her patients.
Miss Vogt offers gynaecological reviews and undertakes ultrasound scanning. She can provide advice on contraception / HRT and regularly sees patients for menstrual concerns and treatment of polyps and performs hysteroscopies at both the Portland Hospital and London Clinic.
Miss Vogt is extremely gentle and sympathetic to patient’s needs. She sees a lot of young women coming to see a gynaecologist for the first time and is excellent at putting patients at ease. She takes time to listen to patients concerns and is approachable and easy to talk to.
Miss Emma Kirk is a highly trained and experienced consultant in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology . Miss Kirk graduated from St George’s Hospital (University of London) in 1999. She qualified as a Member of The Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists in 2009.
She is a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Royal Free Hospital, London. She is the clinical lead for Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology. She has a special interest in early pregnancy with over 12 years’ experience. She is an expert in gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound. She regularly sees patients for gynaecological review, investigations into abnormal bleeding, investigation of pelvic pain, discussions about contraception and early pregnancy problems. She works closely with Miss Mellon and fertility clinics to assist with pre-conception work-ups and can arrange any investigations required. She can perform ultrasound assessments for tubal patency (HyCoSy) and performs minor surgical procedures at the Portland Hospital and the London Clinic.
Miss Kirk is passionate about driving advances in her field and worked as a research fellow for many years. She has published extensively in established research journals on many different areas of early pregnancy, with more than 50 publications. She holds a number of leading positions including Coordinator of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology Special Interest Group in Early Pregnancy, Executive member of the Association of Early Pregnancy Units and a medical advisor to the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust.
Miss Kirk is also very involved with teaching and frequently lectures on different aspects of early pregnancy. She co-organises the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists advanced training skill course on Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology. She regularly lectures on gynaecological ultrasound courses.
Miss Kirk’s extensive experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, particularly with early pregnancy, has resulted in Emma being able to provide the highest standards of treatment and care to all her patients.
Miss Karolina Afors works as a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at The Whittington Hospital and The Portland in London specialising in advanced minimally invasive gynaecological surgery. She has completed a 2 year clinical fellowship in advanced minimal access surgery at Kings College Hospital. In addition, she worked as a clinical research fellow at IRCAD, an internationally recognised endoscopic centre in Strasbourg France, under the tutelage of Professor Wattiez.
In 2015 she was nominated as co chair to the Young Endoscopist Platform (YEP) and has been extensively involved in organising training events at both the British and European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopists scientific meetings. She also serves on the BSGE committee for laparoscopic training.
She has presented both nationally and internationally on numerous occasions and has published over 20 peer-reviewed publications in scientific journals. She has received both national and international prizes at scientific meetings for her contribution and work in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery.
She continues to participate as part of the faculty on the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists Laparoscopic ATSM courses and the Advanced Gynaecological Courses in IRCAD, Strasbourg. She also serves as head instructor for the European Academy of Gynaecological Surgery.
She has an avid interest in endometriosis, pelvic pain and minimally invasive surgical solutions to gynaecological conditions and continues to publish extensively within this field. She believes in patient centered care with a holistic approach to complement both medical and surgical treatments.
