Miss Mellon is a renowned London based Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 15 years experience in her field. She graduated from University of Glasgow in 1988 (MBCHB) and became a fully qualified Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2002. She had originally trained as a GP in Australia, but returned to Britain to pursue a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
In her general obstetrics practice she deals with anything ranging from complicated caesarean section deliveries to water birth deliveries.
In her NHS gynaecology practice she performs major and minor surgery, runs the labour ward, antenatal clinics and a busy gynaecology clinic. Privately her care covers general gynaecology including emergencies, transvaginal scanning of early pregnancy, pre-fertility workup and co-ordination with fertility clinics in USA and other countries for surrogacy & IVF. She is also highly skilled in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery with a particular interest in the treatment of fibroids.
Miss Mellon practices privately at The Portland Hospital, and is also a trustee for Wellbeing of Women, a charity that raises funds for research into women’s health. She holds a number of other leading positions, including principal investigator for International Bayer trials for medical management of fibroids and the Medical lead for Female Genital Mutilation at Whittington Hospital, as well as Obstetric Ward lead. Miss Mellon is also passionate about teaching and was appointed Honorary Senior Lecturer at Whittington Hospital for Medical Students.
Miss Mellon is married and lives in west London with her husband and son.
